The story of a man who has impacted the entire economy and internet industry of China. He is the richest man in China with net worth of US $41.5 billion as of January 2018. He failed many times. Ma once made $12 per month as an English teacher. Jack Ma is one of those self-made billionaire with humble beginnings. Jack Ma is a Chinese business magnate, philanthropist, internet and technology entrepreneur. He is a founder and executive chairman of Alibaba Group. He is one of the world's most influential businessmen, one of the world's most powerful people, has been a global inspirer and role model to many.
 Ma was born in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province China. Former US president Richard Nixon's visit to hangzhou in 1972 improved tourism in his home town. Jack Ma spent his early mornings riding his bikes a 70 min from his home, to nearby park, giving English tours to foreigners for free to improve his english for nine years. 

 I used to guide tourists for free and that's how I learned English.

  He met a foreign girl who gave him nickname 'Jack'  because she found it hard to pronounce his Chinese name.
 In his youth, Jack struggled attending college. The Chinese entrance exams are held only once a year and it took Jack four years to pass. Jack after graduating with a Bachelor's degree in English, he worked as an English teacher at Hangzhou Dianzi University at $12 a month Jack Ma met his wife, when they were studying at Hangzhou University. 
Jack Ma applied for 30 different jobs and got rejected by all 

 I went for a job with the police, they said, 'you're no good

 "I even went to KFC when it came to my city. Twenty-four people went for the job. Twenty-three were accepted. I was the only guy who wasn't."

 In his early childhood, Jack Ma failed in his primary School not once, but two times. He failed Thrice in Middle School exams. When applying to universities, he failed entrance exams thrice, before joining Hangzhou Normal University. He applied to Harvard University ten times and got rejected each time. He didn't give up after too many rejection and failures. 

In early 1995, he went to the US with his friends they introduced him to the internet. His first search was the word "beer". He found information related to beer from many countries, but he was surprised to find none from China. He tried to search for general information about China and find none. So he and his friend created ugly website related to China . He launched the website, he had received emails from some Chinese wishing to know about him. This is when Jack Ma realized that the internet had something great to offer.
  In 1995 Jack, his wife and a friend raised USD 20,000 and started their first company. Their company was dedicated to creating websites for companies. He named "China Yellow Pages". Within three years, his company had made USD 800,000.

 In 1999, Ma returned to Hangzhou with his team. He founded Alibaba after persuading 17 of his friends to invest and to join him. He suffered multiple failure. It wasn't profitable first three years. As Ma humbly notes  "I call Alibaba'1,001 mistakes."  But they later raised $20 Million from SoftBank and another $5 Million from Goldman Sachs and made it successful. Jack Ma never having written single line of code, runs biggest E-commerce network in the world. 


 Never give up
